Ecopsychology is an emerging field that explores the interrelationship between humans and the natural world. It seeks to awaken us to the illusion of separation exists between self and nature. It suggests that by rediscovering our connection with all things, we can begin the process of psychological and ecological healing. This includes effective environmental education and action, ecotherapy, promotion of sustainability, healing and influences of encounters with wilderness and nearby nature, and sacred dimensions of human-nature relationships
