This course engages our inner senses as well as those focused outward to meet and discover more of what we are as the Life and Consciousness that Nature reflects back to us. Combining a phenomenology of nature with direct field experience as well as inner exploration; this class investigates the quality and meaning of the relationships we have established with various aspects of nature, and how past and present cultures, spiritual and religious systems, and civilizations have created life styles and communities to live in harmony and interdependence with Nature, how they have learned from Nature, and how they define themselves by the myths, stories and paradigms created by being alive the intersection of a vibrant animality and a transcendent spirituality. In particular we look at how our sense of ourselves; and our health, models and techniques of healing, and overall sense of well being emerge out of the degree of connectedness, depth and intimacy we have with Nature.
